The Cigna Medicare Strategize Sales Enablement Business Project Advisor will be responsible for delivering sales initiatives necessary to drive efficiencies and improve business processes in order to increase sales and drive profitable growth for the Cigna Medicare business segment. A critical component of this individual's role will be to lead the organization in managing activities necessary to prepare for the Annual Medicare Enrollment Period. This individual will support the overall Cigna Medicare sales enablement strategy and have a significant impact on the organizations objectives by evaluating, defining, managing and executing on sales initiatives required for business improvements and regulatory requirements related to our Medicare, Medicaid and PDP products.  

The Cigna Medicare Strategize Sales Enablement Business Project Advisor is responsible for coordinating with Sales, Contracting, Marketing, Commissions, Compliance, IT, and various matrix partners to deliver efficient and effective solutions to support Cigna Medicare’s strategies.  The individual will work collaboratively across multiple functional areas to understand current business processes, evaluate impacts, quantify business value, recommend improvements, and identify risks of by assessing initiatives from a cost, efficiency, legal, and regulatory standpoint.  The Sales Business Project Advisor will prepare and present evaluations of Sales Initiatives to Sales Leaders for approval, guidance and timing.  This team member will plan and execute business process Improvement initiatives and integrate new initiatives into the existing matrix platforms and processes.

This individual will work closely with matrix partners, at times including IT teams, to design and implement solutions within established time lines, provide quantifiable measures and cost savings support for service management, improve compliance of the sales organization, and improve the quality and efficiency of Cigna Medicare’s sales operations, deliver reporting and analytics, and provide broker service and support. Achievements are largely dependent on successfully eliciting feedback across multiple internal and external constituents, the sales organization, market leadership, and distribution partners and working closely and effectively with IT partners to deliver solutions that meet or exceed the needs of all stakeholders. This is accomplished by acquiring a deep understanding of all systems, business processes, and matrix partner impacts; anticipating the needs of stakeholders to proactively design value-added solutions; breaking down complex problems and scenarios into easily understood parts and communicating to stakeholders of various levels; designing and executing project plans per delivery expectations and timelines, and building and maintaining strong peer relationships with various internal matrix partners and external vendors.

  • Participates in requirements elicitation, design discussions, business accepting testing and support of tools critical to the success of Sales Operations (e.g. Salesforce, electronic enrollments, etc)

  • Collaborates with Sales teams and IT leadership to eliminate manual processes through automation, increase efficiencies by improving processes, make it easier to do business by delivering better tools and prevent deviations from standard system processes by documenting and disseminating business process materials 

  • Ability to quickly understand risks and issues; proactively works to remove blockers and solve problems

  • Ensures projects and tasks are completed within committed time, as defined by requirements and commitments, within budget.

  • Researches and develops innovative solutions to address highly complex business needs

  • Analyzes and interprets federal and state mandates to assess system and business impacts for Sales Operations, working collaboratively with Sales Integrity and Compliance teams to ensure compliance

  • Acts as liaison for business partners (including Contracting, Commissions, Reporting and Analytics, and Training) to ensure system configuration and business processes comply with mandates

  • Ability to quickly learn critical sales tools and operations as needed to understand dependencies by Sales 

  • Contributes to development of functional strategy through business process improvement and/or reengineering

  • Works within an environment which leverages analytics, technology, best practices, innovation and talent, along with corporate-wide resources to execute strategy

  • Provides leadership and clear decision-making on issues affecting process improvement

  • Support cross-functional decision-making and take ownership to drive compliant process improvement results

  • Capable of identifying multiple solutions to a given problem and decisively choosing and implementing the most appropriate given business constraints

  • Develops effective communications and presentations on sales initiatives for various audiences with the right level of content. 

  • Ability to prepare meaningful executive summaries and effectively present at the executive leadership level


  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience

  • 5 + years of business analysis and/or project management related experience

  • Experience managing multiple medium to large scale projects with varying delivery dates

  • Experience in developing and delivery of effective process improvement strategies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

  • Understanding of Medicare regulations is preferred

  • Proven quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Experience in building presentations for leadership

  • Excellent networking skills with varying leadership levels and matrix partners

  • Strong customer service orientation
