The Office Accountant/Analyst will be assigned as the main Finance contact for one or more U.S. Offices and serve as the essential go-to person for all requests from consultants and support staff. S/he is a results oriented individual with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast paced professional environment. S/he is intellectually curious with a desire to learn about Spencer Stuart, the firm's business model, and the CFOG. As a member of the accounting department, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting both the transaction processing and financial reporting functions. The position requires a tremendous attention to detail and a customer service orientation. Candidates must possess a strong sense of urgency and have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. A team player with a good attitude is essential. The candidate must have strong communication skills and ability to work well with other departments, colleagues, and clients.

Analyze general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Spot trends and provide feedback on fluctuating costs.
Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations. Provide a fresh look at existing templates and help create improved or entirely new versions.
Prepare Journal Entries to correct and/or adjust transactions in Navision.
Assist in the preparation of standard monthly financial statements and, in many cases, provide data to be used in regular staff meetings.
Audit and code employee expenses in the Travel and Expense system (Concur).
Work with Consultants and Executive Assistants to prepare official invoices to be sent to clients on a semi-monthly basis.
Serve as the go-to person or air traffic controller for incoming requests by working with teammates and ensuring that outgoing responses meet CFOG's high standards for accuracy and relationship management.
Collaborate closely with all colleagues in CFOG by demonstrating team spirit, an unwavering commitment to mutual success, and a strong work ethic.

Facile with Software and Databases. Intermediate Excel skills. A quick study and eager to learn our accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics - NAV) and proprietary (Quest) software applications.
Education. Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Work history either as an intern during the school year or summers, and, ideally, for one or two after graduating.
Experience, ideally, in a professional office environment in an accounting capacity.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (knowledge of intermediate functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables).
Analytical, insightful, curious. "Helicopter" ability: able to delve deeply into and work meticulously with details, while also being able to pull up and offer meaningful insights to colleagues. Fascinated by stepping back from numbers to interpret what they mean, spot trends, and bring insight.
