Job Description:

PGIM Private Capital (“PPC”) is the private capital investment arm of PGIM and one of the largest private debt investors in the world with nearly $87 billion in AUM across more than 1,000 companies globally (as of 6/30/19). PPC typically invests $10-13 billion annually in privately placed senior and mezzanine financings with middle-market companies.

Known for investing in relationships, providing strategic capital and delivering consistent results over the past 75+ years, PPC has earned a reputation for its large appetite for complex transactions across the risk spectrum and for being one of the largest providers of private capital in the country.  

The Institutional Asset Management (“IAM”) group manages the relationships with both affiliated and non-affiliated investors and performs various portfolio management and marketing functions for PPC.  IAM is seeking an Analyst for its three-year investment analyst program.  

Analysts develop business perspective as well as analytical and portfolio management skills.  The Analyst position offers candidates the chance to build these skills and expand their knowledge of private capital investments and the broader capital markets.

The IAM Investment Analyst responsibilities will include:


  • In-depth analysis of affiliated and non-affiliated performance attribution (absolute and vs benchmark)

  • Integral role in the allocation of individual transactions to the existing investor base

  • Supporting duration / liquidity portfolio management for multiple non-affiliated accounts (i.e. Treasury futures trades)

  • Providing all manners of portfolio management and client relationship support for large Japan-based affiliated client

  • Participation in portfolio update calls with investors, including providing updates on Early Warning / Watch List credits

  • Assist in completion / review of certain monthly & quarterly portfolio reports as needed

  • Requests / analytical projects, with potential to include security valuation related responsibilities

IAM is a flat organization with considerable responsibility and interaction with both clients and PPC senior management. The Investment Analyst role is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable exposure to portfolio management and client service.  The team places a high premium on both the quality of work and professionalism of the candidate. The position will report directly to a Senior Vice President on the IAM team.


  • BS in Finance, Accounting, or another quantitative subject

  • Demonstrated analytic skills with a strong understanding Excel

  • 1-2 years capital markets and/or fixed income experience preferred

  • Strong writing, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of fixed income terms and/or valuation methodologies

  • Experience with Prudential’s systems such as PAM, CAMPPS, TITAN is a plus
