2020 Summer Internship Program
Our compensated Internship Program is designed to give rising junior and senior undergraduate students a challenging, hands-on experience in the technology industry. Interns will join our collaborative, friendly work environment to participate on meaningful projects to support our business. Our goal is to foster the growth of highly motivated, talented individuals that would like to join us as repeat interns and/or ultimately regular full-time employees.

2020 Program Dates:
June 1, 2020 - August 14, 2020

JOB SUMMARY:
Our inside sales intern will provide support to Inside Sales and Field Sales and utilize inbound and/or outbound calls as well as email and social media to pursue sales. They will develop account penetration strategies and are responsible for understanding Vertex's product offerings and competitive issues.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Inside Sales organization to facilitate and coordinate strategic campaigns.

  • Analyze current processes and research and document changes and improvements.

  • Proactive review with customers annually, accounts, products, prices, questions, concerns, etc.

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads targeted predominantly at the global F1000.

  • Contribute to building the pipeline for Field Sales to support overall Sales quota.

  • Cold call & prospect to develop prospecting lists, and to build business pipeline for the territory.

  • Begin to understand primary business issues, challenges and tax and tax technical needs of prospective global Fortune 1000 organizations.

  • Maintain accurate and current information regarding the status of each client contact and sales opportunity in Salesforce.com.

  • Strong written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to build stable working relationships internally.

  • Must possess good organizational skills.

  • Must be results oriented, customer focused, and exhibit good interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office packages.

    Education and Training:



  • Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor's degree through an Accredited University - preferably students at a junior level or higher

  • Majoring in Marketing, Business or related field

  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
