  • Provide security protection and access control.

  • Provide security protection for all government property, classified material and personnel within assigned areas of responsibility to preclude unauthorized access, theft, or intentional destruction.

  • Report/respond to unusual or emergency situations.

  • Be alert for potential security, property or safety concerns and initiate the appropriate actions.

  • Control ingress/egress into and/or out of posted/controlled/security areas.

  • Prevent/report all violations of security and safety rules and regulations.

  • Respond to protective alarm signals or other unusual/suspicious activities.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all security and guard orders, written and oral, pertaining to the assigned duties.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Be a United States Citizen or lawful permanent resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from any component of the US Armed Forces.

  • High School education or GED equivalent. Background investigation and pre-employment drug screening is conducted.

  • A minimum of 60 credit hours, in a related field, from an accredited learning institution recognized by the US Department of Education

  • Successful completion of a federal/state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer's standard training course that may result in law enforcement appointment or commission.

  • Been issued a SS Card by the SSA.

  • A minimum of two years of security (armed) or law enforcement experience; or

  • A minimum of two years of honorable service as a member of an US Armed Forces Component.

  • Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend and compose coherent written reports in English.

  • Be a minimum of 21 years of age.

  • Be able to pass a medical screening to include drug test.

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
