Job Description

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Create accurate outbound vessel projections and load lists to required schedule
  • Resolve inquiries and problems from customer service, sales, finance, etc.
  • Develop and implement plans to optimize asset utilization and meet service offerings
  • Monitor and confirm cargo compliance - Hazardous, Automobiles, Shipping Instructions, VGM, Surveys, Customs, etc.
  • Reconcile port systems to APL's systems
  • Maintain vessel cutoff rules and dates
  • Handle vessel downloads with terminals and coordinate inland cargo movement
  • Coordinate movement between rail ramps and marine terminals
  • Expedite cargo moving to and from inland locations
  • Direct all diversion and approval requests
  • Identify process, cost and service improvement opportunities
  • Measure and report key performance indicators
  • Reduce cost leakage by ensuring non-standard operational costs are invoiced to customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience
