Job Summary
An Installer is responsible for the safe, quality installation of equipment in the critical space data center, and similar environments as specified in engineering instructions and drawings and in accordance with customer standards.

A laptop, smartphone, and tools will be provided. Benefits provided include: health insurance, prescription plans, dental, vacation, paid holidays and 401K. We provide an elaborate training program for new hires which requires travel to Columbus, Ohio as needed.



    1. Install, test, and perform pre-energization (mechanical) checks to AC Power or Thermal (HVAC) equipment in Critical Space Data Center or similar Environments

    2. Add and/or removal of battery strings (AC or DC Power systems), including Lithium Ion

    3. Perform additions, removals, and modifications on working equipment and circuits

    4. Participate in all internal and external quality audits, both in-process and final

    5. Add and/or remove circuits on working power distribution equipment

    6. Installation of auxiliary framing and relay racks

    7. On-site analysis of job drawings and specifications to resolve any issues prior to job start

    8. Preparation of Job Site Safety Audits and/or SMOP’s and DMOP’s for the project

    9. Function as the point-of-contact for support groups such as engineering, material assignment, etc.

    10. Review the work assignments & project steps (reference the SMOP/DMOP) before each work shift so all personnel, including contractors, are aware of their roles & responsibilities during the scheduled work tour

    11. Completing the project related documentation (ticket or job log) as per company standards, including the personnel and hours worked by each; work items completed or in progress; and notable site or project issues

    12. Perform all work in accordance with Vertiv and NFPA70E safety work standards and policy, and ensure that all safety measures are met


    Performs small UPS and Power Distribution energized tests, upon satisfactorily academic and OJT fulfillment on assigned projects.

    1. Proficient in data monitoring equipment; safe installation of voltage and current leads and safety operating and interpreting data (Hioki)

    2. Add and/or upgrade firmware/software as needed

    3. Oversees the work assignment, time management, and training and development of all personnel assigned to the job

    4. Maintain a professional orientation, ensuring quality and outstanding customer service




    1. Installers shall have a minimum of 6 years accumulated experience or equivalent as determined by the TC specifications

    2. High school diploma, technical degree preferred 

    3. Special electronics training or work experience 

    4. Strong verbal and written customer facing skills

    5. Strong computer skills to include MS Office experience

    6. Experience with complying with all customer standards and paperwork to include JSA, MOP, JIM and job completion forms

    7. Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment


    • Willing to travel anywhere in North America ~80% of the time.  Schedule is dependent upon project work and is flexible to the degree it can be.  This is worked out on a case by case basis with your assigned project manager.  PTO scheduled in advance can and will be accommodated.

    • Does NOT require relocation to a Vertiv headquarter or regional office at this time.

    • This is “project work” which typical projects last anywhere from 6-12 months on average.  It can vary based on schedule and progress. 

    • Options for downtime (i.e. in between projects) , employee can take PTO, training, regional work, and “home office” work.

    • Typical schedule is to work 4-6 weeks and then 1-2 weeks back at “home base” depending on project schedule.  This varies based on the phase of the project.

    • Expect to receive accelerated on-job-training (OJT) and experience due to the nature of this work.  Excellent career jump-start and then settle down in a region (if and when you choose to do so)
