Sargent Aerospace & Defense


The Engineering IT Programmer will assist engineering and other departments to develop and implement new programs as well as improve existing programs. Other duties will include assisting with Engineering IT functions as needed i.e. desktop support, licensing, software installation, and moving hardware.

  • Provide Level 2 Tech Support to end users local and remote sites.
  • Contacting Tech Support when needed, work directly with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Engineering software license management.
  • Monitoring budget for engineering software maintenance and renewals.
  • Windchill Business/Server Administrator duties.
  • Programming requests related to Windchill (Java, HTML, XML, CSS).
  • Programming requests related to improving manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Specifying/suggesting engineering specific hardware/software.
  • Ensure that commitments to both internal and external customer requests are met.
  • Communicate issues clearly both orally and written.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly audits.
  • Create and update training documentation and Desktop Procedures.
  • Work proactively to identify potential issues and recommend/implement preventative solutions.

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science or related field, plus five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable work knowledge and abilities have been acquired.
  • Level 2 tech support troubleshooting experience, including basic office equipment (printer, scanner, copier, etc.)
  • Two years of programming experience.
  • MS Office proficiency, moderately complex typing and word processing skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and etiquette.
  • Working knowledge of English usage, grammar, punctuation, and formatting business documents.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure while multitasking.
  • Ability to function in a team environment by establishing cooperative working relationships with peers and co-workers.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Able to lift and move object that weigh up to 50 lbs.

  • Experience with Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Quality
  • Experience with Aerospace or Marine products
  • Experience with Windchill PLM or equivalent
  • Experience with SyteLine
  • Experience with OnBase
