Alternative Apparel is looking for an entry level Graphic Designer to join the Brand Marketing team. This role is responsible for understanding marketing and communication goals and translating them into unique creative solutions for our brand. As Graphic Designer you will be responsible for collaborating with the Sr. Graphic Designer & immediate team members as well as working across multiple departments. This important role requires broad knowledge and advanced skills in both print and web design. The Graphic Designer reports to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling visual communications
  • Design layouts, comps & branding for our B2C and B2B channels: emails, webpages, sales materials, lookbooks, catalogs, etc.
  • Balance priorities and projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Support the Creative Director, Sr. Graphic Designer and overall creative department in producing: Catalog Layouts, Print needs and Retail Signage needs
  • Provide e-Comm support for our websites as well as: digital lookbooks, e-mails and wireframes
  • Internal assistance for HR & Brand Mafia community: event invites, newsletters, etc.
  • Tradeshow and Event needs: Graphics, Environmental Design, Signage and KOP
  • Some travel may be required for photoshoots, tradeshows, company events


Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience in designing for print and web mediums; tradeshow experience is a plus
  • BFA in Graphic Design or similar creative/digital field
  • An ability to advocate for and maintain brand identity, evolving as necessary
  • Exceptional design talents with stylistic breadth that demonstrates a fashionable aesthetic
  • Creative problem solving, communication skills, and decision-making skills
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience with photo shoots & production preferred
  • Experience with overseeing vendors & contractors is a plus
  • Proficiency in project management software/Basecamp & use of DropBox
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Must be able to take direction and work well in a team environment, as well as on your own
  • Proven success working in a fluid and rapidly changing open team environment
  • Superior verbal and writing skills to communicate design principles
  • Hand-crafted skills and a passion for fashion, art, design and photography are preferred
