The Spirit of the Position:

The Lot Checker plays a key role in the revenue collection of commercial lots. The Lot Checker will greet the public in a manner consistent with the LAZ Way, serving as a representative displaying; honesty, integrity, accountability, teamwork, and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

Principle Job Duties:

* Identify parking violations and determine the level of citation per violation.

* Process violation notice and/or request towing service.

* Follow vehicle towing procedure.

* Conduct lot audits as needed.

* Insure proper signage is displayed.

* General maintenance of Pay and Display machines.

* Basic maintenance of parking lots.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Complete all required paperwork and reports accurately and efficiently to account for any and all collected parking revenues.

* Promote good customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.

* Maintain and report any malfunctioning parking equipment to management, ensuring appropriate access to customers.

* Be in correct LAZ Parking uniform, on time, and ready to work when scheduled.

* Work with and without supervision and follow directions of supervisors when requests are made.

* Inform all people loitering to move off property or call non-emergency number for police support.

* Make sure the location is clean and safe; report any potential hazardous conditions.

* Other related duties as assigned.

Education:

* High School diploma or GED equivalent is required

Skills:

* Strong customer service skills and abilities.

* Ability to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges (Never Ever Give Up Attitude).

* Ability to work independently and multi-task.

* Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization and outside customers and clientele.

* Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.

* Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
* Willingness to be flexible, work multiple facility locations.

* Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.

* Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.

* Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made (not easily persuaded).

Physical Demands:

* Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.

* Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time

* Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.

* Ability to apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

* Ability to perform functions that require repetitive motions using hands, wrists, arms, legs, ankles, knees and hips.

* Ability to express or exchange information, instructions, ideas, etc. by means f the spoken word.

* Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discrimination in sound.
