The Manager, Compensation supports the implementation, communication and administration of domestic and international compensation programs, policies and practices to ensure they are cost-effective, internally equitable, externally competitive and compliant with all applicable regulations. Performs jobs evaluations, market pricing and research and analysis on compensation policies and practices and makes recommendations consistent with corporate compensation philosophy, market practice and business needs. Develops and maintains collaborative team and HR client relationships to ensure effective and efficient delivery of compensation support to the business.
Lead planning, administration and communication of compensation programs and practices for assigned areas: complete job evaluations/re-evaluations, perform market and FLSA analyses, make salary recommendations for new hires, promotions and other adjustments
Ensure internal equity and external competitiveness by monitoring business practices, legal requirements, economic indicators, and competitive practices.
Develop and maintain market pricing of positions; ownership for market pricing/survey management system (MarketPay).
Participate in compensation surveys, analyze results, and recommend necessary changes to plans, structures or pay practices.
Serve as consultant to HR partners in all areas of compensation, including market pricing, internal equity, retention and overall pay practices.
Provide analytic and modeling support for the design and implementation of compensation programs.
Recommend revisions to processes and plans to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, market competitiveness and support of business objectives.
Effectively manage relationships with survey vendors, external consultants and service providers.
Provide Retail Bonus and Corporate Annual Incentive Plan administration, audit and modeling support.
Support Sr Manager Executive Compensation with equity plan administration (grant and vesting processes) and employee stock purchase plan; audit equity and ESPP transactions and assist with vendor management.
Prepare, communicate and administer international assignments; coordinate closely with finance, legal, payroll, and tax relative to assignments.
Comply with internal and external audit requirements of the company's compensation programs, ensuring accurate and timely internal and external reporting of compensation programs and practices.
Maintain knowledge of applicable U.S. regulations related to total rewards.
Undergraduate degree in business, economics, finance or human resources or related field
4-6 progressive years of strong, hands-on broad based compensation experience
Highly analytical and process orientated, with strong attention to detail and problem solving, consulting, influencing and partnering skills
Advanced skills in Excel; experience with economic and financial modeling and forecasting
Effective communication skills and adept at tailoring both written and verbal communication based on the audience, e.g. HR partners, peers, employees, management
High energy, results orientation; strategic and hands-on; understands the details
High interpersonal skills, credibility, discretion, ethics, and integrity
Large, multi-national organization; consulting or advisory experience
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
Experience in administration of equity programs, including Employee Stock Purchase Plans
