This role will support the Cigna Digital Team’s mission to deliver world-class digital user experiences to Cigna’s global audience. You will work closely with a diverse team of business product owners, UX designers, content writers, user researchers, development, and QA teams to ensure that our digital properties are accessible, usable, and adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Help ensure accessibility of digital properties for all users by:
Design Reviews and Audits
Work closely with UX designers and content writers to ensure their deliverables provide sufficient guidance for development teams, in regards to accessibility
Perform accessibility audits to identify noncompliance with WCAG and prepare reports on findings that include recommended solutions, communicate next steps to delivery teams
Help establish and communicate guidelines and standards related to designing, building, and maintaining accessible websites
Participate in-person and webinar based training sessions
Comfortable with using accessibility testing tools (WAVE, Axe, Chrome DevTools) and assistive technologies, such as screen readers (JAWs, NVDA, VoiceOver)
Ability to work closely with developers to iterate through fixes and new solutions by evaluating code and providing accessible recommendations to fix compliance issues
Familiarity with WCAG and US disability laws, including Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), etc. International laws a plus
Strong analytical, creative problem solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills to facilitate the coordination and completion of varied work requests
Background in Computer Science/Information Technology or related fields (such as Human Computer Interactions or Digital Design)
At least 2 years of front end web development
Some experience with web accessibility
