Performs imaging and Doppler ultrasound examinations on the heart and surrounding anatomy by means of two-dimensional imaging. Provides Doppler and color flow Doppler and M-mode techniques as indicated for patient records, storing pertinent data on videotape and hard copy. Assists cardiologist by operating the echo machine during transesophageal (TEE) studies. Performs ultrasound examination component of stress echo. May work in any or all of three settings: hospital, clinic, outreach (mobile). The Ultrasound Technologist is available for 24-hour call with a 30-minute response time required. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in his/her assigned department as indicated: Age of population served: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric
Registered cardiac sonographer or registry eligible in Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) with passage of RDCS registry within two years of hire.
Minimum of one year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography including experience with transesophageal and stress echo; or graduate of an accredited echocardiography program or two or more years experience preferred. Must have knowledge of pathology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures. Experience with mobile service operations helpful. Skills: Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of health care professionals.
License or certification

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $31.16 per hour.

Days; Monday - Friday; 8 hour shifts with call
Weekend call rotation
