A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
The primary function of this position is the packaging and shipping of less than truckload quantities of hazardous materials and other miscellaneous items. This includes the efficient and safe handling and packaging of all materials and ensuring that all Department of Transportation regulations are met. Secondary function is to work in the MRO warehouse to receive and check material, pull material, perform PM's, physical inventory, etc.
Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
Prepares proper paperwork as per regulations for items shipped including hazardous materials
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
Properly prepares/packs items for safe shipment per regulations
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
May operate lift truck or use hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area
May direct others in preparing outgoing shipments
Process SAP transactions for receiving, kitting, Goods issues
Maintain Self-Serve inventory throughout plant, requisition material
Serve as back up driver for plant deliveries
Serve as back up for Kitting
Operate forklift or other machinery needed to complete tasks
What You Will Need:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Currently International Air Transport Association (IATA) & Department of Transportation's (DOT) - Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 certified
Previous shipping experience
Experience in SAP
Forklift Operation experience
3+ years of warehouse/storeroom experience in a chemical facility
Experience using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Teams, etc. i.e. The ability to send calendar invites, manage a calendar, set up meeting request etc.
Experience using mobile technology i.e. Scanners / iPad, bar coding etc.
Must be willing/available to work periodic overtime and respond to off hour calls for emergency response and repair needs
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to climb stairs and move about an industrial manufacturing plant.
Job will require viewing monitor screens, reading, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Required to wear any or all of the following PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, FRC, acid suits, breathing air, gloves, safety boots, respirators, PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. frequently
Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions
