We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as a Junior Accountant for our Merrimack Facility located in Merrimack, New Hampshire.
The Junior Accountant assists the Controller by performing all activities related to Accounts Payable processing and recordkeeping, payroll recordkeeping and assists with general office management duties.
What will be expected from you?
Process Accounts Payable utilizing Syteline ERP system. 1. Utilize 3-way match with P.O., packing slip and invoice to confirm appropriate approval signature, account numbers and proof of merchandise receipt or services completion. 2. Research and resolve any issues. 3. Process payments for review and issuance via check or ACH 3. Maintain electronic files for vendor invoices, payments and correspondence.
Work with Controller and Accountant to implement new or changes to internal controls.
Calculating and reconciling PTO (paid time off) and contacting supervisors and employees to confirm hours worked vs. time missed as well as resolving any discrepancies or errors. Maintain electronic files for hours worked and paid time off. Preparing associated journal entries.
Support internal customers by identifying and/or reconciling payroll or vendor related issues.
Process incoming cash receipts in Banking and ERP software.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including accounting support on projects and back-up and overflow support to others in department.
Provide general office support:
Answer and route external phone calls and voice mail messages.
Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail.
Maintain office and kitchen supply inventories, place replenishment orders to purchasing and verify receipt.
Welcome guests and visitors and oversee administration of employees, contractors and visitor security clearance.
Support internal meetings with arrangements for breakfast or lunches, as required.
What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years' experience working in an administrative role with exposure to accounting activities, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in MS Office, Outlook with advanced Excel skills.
Prior experience with accounts payable voucher and payment processing.
Strong technical skills involving A/P processing and reconciliation.
Strong attention to detail; accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality of work.
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing tactfully with internal and external contacts.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Integrity, ability to maintain confidentiality.
