Juno is seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven individual to join its innovation focused, multi-disciplinary Process Science and Technology team in advancing new products and technology platforms through clinical development. The successful candidate will lead a team of associate scientists and engineers to design, execute, and analyze experiments to drive the development of next-generation processes and technologies for manufacturing adoptive T-cell therapies. This position requires positive, collaborative leadership abilities, clear organizational skills and excellent prioritization to help drive cross-functional initiatives focused on creating novel products and manufacturing platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of associate scientists/engineers to develop technologies and processes for T-cell products

  • Develop and mentor junior scientific staff.

  • Design, execute and analyze experiments that examine novel processing methods and their impacts on t-cell biology

  • Drive process development and characterization of clinical programs

  • Collaborate with Research, Manufacturing, and external partners to design, develop and implement cutting-edge process technologies and platforms within a GMP autologous cell therapy manufacturing process

  • Leads and participates in cross functional teams or projects.

  • Clearly communicates ideas and results to stakeholders via written and verbal formats

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Engineering, Immunology, Biology or equivalent with 4+ years of technical experience or B.S./M.S. with equivalent experience in cell therapy

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven ability to mentor technical staff

  • Working knowledge of immunology or cell biology and analytical techniques including flow cytometry and cell based assays.

  • Expertise in statistical experimental design (DOE) with a proficiency in JMP, R, or SAS

  • Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and organize and prioritize work

  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills

  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment, meet deadlines, prioritize work across multiple projects

  • Ability to manage uncertainties in projects and schedule

  • Ability to learn new technologies and acquire knowledge quickly in the rapidly expanding adoptive T-cell therapy field
