EEM-AM is the Elanco External Manufacturing hub responsible for managing contract manufacturers in North America and Latin America. This position will support the North America region and will have production planning responsibilities for products sourced from North America CMs.

Functions, Duties, Tasks

Production Planning

  • Review product demand during  monthly demand consolidation

  • Prepare monthly production plan for assigned product families & present at ROP

  • Maintain schedule and capacity plans and review with external manufacturers

  • Release POs to contract manufacturers and maintain valid dates/quantities

  • Represent supply chain on the joint process teams by ensuring production plans are communicated & capable of being met

  • Manage inventory through review of slow moving materials, materials nearing expiration/re-evaluation, and inventory accuracies

  • Monitor inventory levels at affiliates and ensure inventory is maintained within targets. Create inventory exception notifications when inventory is predicted to exceed target levels.


  • Create and maintain MRDs with external manufacturers

  • Assist in development of site business plans

  • Support product launches by representing supply chain and completing activities identified in launch teams.

  • Support investigations for deviations

  • Participate in power user forums for SAP

  • Identify and implement process improvements that improve efficiencies and costs

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree

  • 5 years’ experience in manufacturing supply chain management

  • Proficiency in SAP

  • Knowledgeable of GMP requirements pertaining to pharmaceutical manufacturing

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferences:

  • 5 years’ experience in Animal Health, Vaccine or Pharmaceutical supply chain management

  • Ability to influence people

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with areas inside and outside of Elanco

  • Demonstrated learning agility

  • Knowledge of supply chain tools and business processes

  • Experience with project management & planning

  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Business knowledge and ability to develop supply chain strategies

  • Experience with SAP/APO
