A Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of new products, or enhancements to existing products, while working within cross-functional development teams to achieve common goals. This role will support the mission of Neptune’s Mechanical Engineering Department by using relevant experience and good engineering judgement to make data-driven decisions and produce design solutions. A Senior Project Engineer is expected to:
Work with Marketing and Management to define product specifications and estimate resource requirements.
Lead product design studies, propose options and evaluate them regarding functional specifications, cost, and schedule requirements and select
Participate in design reviews to ensure integrity of the product design and conformance to professional and departmental standards.
Work with engineering peers and direct support personnel as needed for project design, generation of engineering drawings, specifications, prototypes, models, and design validation testing.
Work with Manufacturing throughout the development process to successfully implement product designs smoothly into production.
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant engineering design experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with manufacturing processes including sand casting, machining, metal stamping, and injection molding of polymers.
Experience designing packaging for electronic assemblies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Project Management skills and experience leading cross-functional product development teams preferred.
