WGBH News seeks to inform, educate and enlighten our audience on both the news of the day and the news in historical context through in-depth, high quality journalism using the best tools and methods of the craft. WGBH seeks always to report on and facilitate discussion of the news with integrity, fairness, balance, accuracy and civility, WGBH News also seeks to tell the stories of and allow expression of the diversity of voices that make up our entire community.


The Radio Reporter/Announcer performs reporting duties and production duties for news programs for multiple platforms including broadcast and online. Responsibilities include hosting, reporting, researching and production of breaking news stories and feature stories as assigned.



  • The candidate must have experience with various audio and text editing software.

  • The candidate must be able to work independently and self-reliantly but also collaborate comfortably with a team.

  • Knowledge of the civic, political, economic and environmental issues on the Cape and Islands is a must.

  • The candidate must have strong writing, voicing, recording and digital editing skills and the ability to work cooperatively and calmly under deadline pressure.

  • The candidate must also have thorough knowledge of using the Internet (e-mail, ftp, web-posting) to edit and file stories.


A college degree is required. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of print and radio journalism experience as well as radio production experience.
