The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Advanced EHS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Performing and guiding technical EHS activities resulting from approved self-initiated or assigned projects and programs.

  • Providing leadership for plant EHS programs including but not limited to:  Environmental Permit Compliance, Fall Protection, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Ergonomics, Confined Space Entry/Rescue, Chemical Safety, TSCA, Site Emergency Coordination, Waste Management, Hearing Conservation and Respirators/PPE.

  • Applying scientific and engineering principles to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities.

  • Completing internal and external EHS compliance reports and analyze EHS data and report trends.

  • Recommending plans for correction of gaps and provide EHS input to address change (e.g., plant Management of Change processes).

  • Implementing on-going industrial hygiene chemical and noise assessments and monitoring plans.

  • Actively support a Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) environment through personal responsibility for safety, promoting positive BBS culture.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years’ experience in the environmental health and safety field within a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or environmental health and safety (EHS) discipline from an accredited institution

  • Excellent background in environmental permitting and compliance

  • QEP, CSP, or CIH certification preferred

  • Experience with Process Hazard Management and Covered Processes

  • Experience with state and federal regulations including (e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.)

  • Experience with hazard and risk assessments and experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Detail oriented with excellent prioritization and organization skills 

Travel:  May include up to 10% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance:  Is authorized
