Job Description:

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is recruiting Instrument Technicians for our Catawba, SC project. You will inspect, test, adjust and repair electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems.

Skills / Qualifications

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations
  • Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers
  • Trace out and test electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components
  • Remove defective instruments from system and replace defective parts
  • Calibrate reading on instruments according to standards
  • Ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function
  • Record calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand
  • Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Five to six years of documented field experience in craft
  • Work at heights without fear
  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems
  • Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures with the field of instrumentation
  • Effective verbal and communication skills
  • Be motivated and work safely and productively
  • Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees
