Wood is recruiting Instrument Technicians for our Catawba, SC project. You will inspect, test, adjust and repair electric, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems.
Skills / Qualifications
Inspect meters, indicators, and gauges to detect abnormal fluctuations
Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers
Trace out and test electronic solid state and vacuum tube circuitry and components
Remove defective instruments from system and replace defective parts
Calibrate reading on instruments according to standards
Ensure accuracy of recording and indicating function
Record calibrations made, parts and components used, and inventory of parts on hand
Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made
Qualifications and Requirements
Five to six years of documented field experience in craft
Work at heights without fear
Apply shop mathematics to solve problems
Have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures with the field of instrumentation
Effective verbal and communication skills
Be motivated and work safely and productively
Be capable of listening and communicating with other supervision and employees
