Job Description:

The Information Technology Project Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining IT systems as they relate to Point of Sale, Mobile Apps and Patient Services Systems for Thomas Cuisine accounts across the country. This is to include the recommendation of systems to existing and new clients with what is the appropriate system to fit their needs. This position will also maintain PCI compliance for credit card transactions.

Responsibilities Include: 

  • Knowledge on the various POS and Kiosk technologies. Currently including Micros, Infor, Tavlo and various point of sale register systems

  • Knowledge of various Patient Services Systems that are in use by our Unit locations, including systems such as Computrition, DFM, Horizon COC and CBORD and what goes into the system with regards to resource needs and requirements

  • Coordinating and assisting with deployment of new and replacing POS systems as needed

  • Technology liaison for new business openings (POS, digital signage, Mobile App, etc)

  • Develop training and educational programs for the various POS and Patient Services System for Thomas Cuisine purposes and to educate other Thomas Cuisine associates on the different options available

  • Multitasking skills is a must and must be able to lead meetings and project planning for new and POS, Mobile App deployments or Patient Services systems as needed.

  • Help Support Units with POS needs, including menus, discounts, reporting, standardization, etc.

  • Project Management -scoping the needs, pricing the project and establishing timing are some however not all of the elements of project management

  • Deployment of and coordination of POS and Patient Services Systems

  • Other Duties as assigned by the VP of IT

  • Traveling based on needs

  • Identify and maintain PCI compliance in all operations where we are responsible for PCI


  • 2 Year technical degree OR equivalent software/networking experience required

  • Strong knowledge, troubleshooting and analysis of operating systems and complex networking environments
    Experience with a Point of Sale system that included the setup, configuration and training and deployment of the system

  • must be very comfortable working under tight deadlines and highly skilled at diffusing stressful situations in real-time with all levels of management in the company.

  • Strong verbal communication skills are a must

  • Extended overnight travel as needed

  • Excellent customer service, communication, organization and training skills

  • Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs.

  • A valid drivers license

  • Strong understanding of PCI-DSS requirements preferred
