Our Lead Cashiers are committed to providing top notch leadership for those they supervisor as well as world class customer service to Maverik customers. They work together with the other members of the management team to assist in training and certifying all new team members. The job of a Lead Cashier at Maverik is rewarding and a great steppingstone to other positions of responsibility in the store and at Maverik.

What You'll Do as a Lead Cashier


  • Engage with the store team and customers to provide excellent customer service

  • Assist with the supervision and training of employees

  • Provides professional leadership and experienced guidance to others

  • Ensures merchandise is available, stocked, and merchandised correctly displaying accurate prices and promotions

  • Step in when needed to perform all the duties of a cashier

  • Complete general reporting and bookkeeping tasks as required

  • Ensures proper and accurate receiving of merchandise including fuel by following all procedures and policies

  • As needed, prepare food items and stock food display including self-serve offerings including the fountain machine, condiment counter and coffee dispensers

  • Adhere to all city, county, state and federal laws affecting store operations including the sale of tobacco and alcohol products

  • Keep the store free of litter and spills and ensure equipment is clean and in working condition

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of lifting, bending, carrying, pushing and pulling of items 20-50 lbs.as well as standing of long periods of time

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
