Position description

Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) Red Wing is seeking a Certified Midwife to join our team. This position will provide women compassionate, expert and personalized care. Our multi-specialty practice allows obstetric providers to work with specialists in Mayo Clinic Health System maternal and fetal medicine, medical genetics, reproductive medicine and other medical and surgical specialties as needed.

The Certified Nurse Midwife at MCHS Red Wing will provide antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care to low and moderate risk women in a busy, multispecialty, collaborative practice. The CNM will collaborate with the medical director and other providers in the SE MN River Corridor OB/GYN Service-line to create and implement the highest standard of care based on Mayo values. We also provide well-women gynecology appointments. The midwife will know each woman and her family intimately, and encourage the patient to be involved in establishing a birth plan. The CNM participates in 3 different models of antepartum care which all contribute to an environment of teamwork and collaboration. These models include CenteringPregnancy ™ , a form of group prenatal care, the integrated practice care model (IPC) where patients are shared between physicians and midwives, and a traditional midwife service model.

Qualifications

Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and midwifery program approved by the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Body mobility, coordinated dexterity of hands, ears, and eyes; sensory acuity, and verbal ability are required.

A current MN RN license, current ACNM certification as a CNM , BLS certification, and NRP certification required. Note: Begining 1/1/2015, a current MN APRN license will be required.

CenteringPregnancy training and ultrasound certification for first and third trimester are required within one year of start

Additional qualifications

Preferred qualifications include: being an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM). Experience teaching in the clinical setting. Additional certifications in fetal monitoring, lactation, and/or Surgical First Assistant.

License or certification

A current MN APRN license, current ACNM certification as a CNM , BLS certification, and NRP certification required.

CenteringPregnancy training and ultrasound certification for first and third trimester are required within one year of start date.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $xxxx.xx, based on a full-time position.

Schedule may include a mix of 8 hour day shifts in the clinic and 12 hour hospital shifts and may rotate between days and nights, 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am.
