Description The Associate Product Engineer will act as the subject matter expert and design owner for large commercial lithium-ion and lead-acid battery systems which are currently in production. This position works closely and continuously with others from product development engineering, field service, technical writing, manufacturing engineering and quality personnel to maximize customers’ satisfaction with Vertiv’s products and implement ongoing design changes.

Invent, prototype, test and implement design changes to prevent recurrence of a problem, pursue cost-out opportunities or add value to a product.
Assist with troubleshooting by investigating emergent problems at customer sites or in production. Frequent travel to Customer sites.
Create or revise technical documentation
Occasionally interact with customers directly, either in support of quoting/sales or in response to problems.
Occasionally operate test equipment up to 700V and 1.6MW in support of the activities above.
Occasionally design, build, and modify simple test equipment.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
1+ years of electrical engineering product development or support experience preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work around and with high voltage
Basic working knowledge in power/electrical engineering; AC and DC power <20kVA circuits, microprocessor and sensor interfacing, firmware interfacing, batteries, connectors/wire-harnesses.
