If you are a manufacturing Supervisor professional professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Lawrence, MA location, you will direct the activities of the Stock Prep department. Analyze and implement process improvements. Ensure subordinates are meeting efficiency and quality expectations. AS Stock Prep Supervisor, YOU WILL: 



    • Monitorand schedule Mill/Calender/Barwell Extruder and Strip Cutter, Rubber/FabricCutting, Sandwich Making and Preform departments to ensure they are supplyingmaterial as needed by Molding. 


    • Driveprocess improvements in all areas to improve quality, material availability andefficiency



    • Monitor production sheets and gauge thickness logs and sheets each shift to identify and address problem areas as well as to ensure acceptable production numbers.



    • Monitorstock prep and review travelers to ensure:



      • Acceptable amount of raw product formolding needs


      • Acceptable quality and scrap rate


      • Travelers are completed correctly (incl.lot #’s)


      • Ensure proper procedures being followed





    • Ensurethat HOT/PRIORITY equipment is operating or alert management if there are issues.


      • Moveoperators around as needed to cover priority jobs.





    • Review and signoff on time sheet report every Monday within four hours of start of shift. 
    • Thorough understanding of material identification and manufacturing processes
    • Monitor raw materials (elastomers, fabric, blue poly) and coordinate replenishment with purchasing
    • Check for shortfalls that may impact operations
    • Receive all raw material, help unload trucks, and properly store all incoming material


    • PhysicalInventory counting and control  - storeparts in their proper storage location – ensure clear organization of materialin cold rooms.



    • Ability to operate Stock Prep equipment, & trouble shoot jobs
    • Mentor all new / inexperienced machine operators


    • 10CFRcertification



    • Spend the majority of your time on the manufacturing floor
    • Foster teamwork though communication & listening skills
    • Maintain adherence to company policies, safety & housekeeping rules
    • Escalate significant issues to Management.  Handle minor issues.
    • Discipline subordinates per company guidelines



    • Informlead person of issues (press problems, quality etc.) and needs from other areas


    • Meetexpectations for quality and quantity.


    • Mustreport any safety concerns to your manager.


    • Mustreport any hygiene concerns to your manager.


    • WearPersonal Protective Equipment as designed and when in the work area at alltimes


    • Recommendsafety improvements to manager or Safety Committee members


    • Understandsafety procedure including pinch safety, fire safety, usage of knives andTeflon gloves



    • May be required to work in other functional areas to meet business needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:



  • High school graduate or equivalent plus technical school/some college acceptable, accompanied with at least 3 years Supervisor and documented process improvement manufacturing experience

  • Basic math skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division



 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

  • BS Engineering preferred (no experience required)

  • Bilingual English and Spanish (preferred, not required)

  • Forklift Operator (will train, not required
