This position will report directly to the Head of Capital Markets and be a senior member of the capital markets team. This position will incorporate a wide-ranging set of activities and responsibilities related to the analytical and data-driven culture promoted within Ocwen. This position will lead a centralized analytics team that will produce actionable business intelligence related to an array of loan types, assets, and lines of business. This team's output will be leveraged across the organization to identify areas of strength, weakness or opportunity and will support pricing, asset valuations and other business decisions. This individual should have a unique and comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage industry, including origination, servicing, governance, pricing, trading/ hedging, returns, risk and modeling, as well as an incomparable ability to simplify extensive data and technical information for communication.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Review internal operational reports vs best practices/ market standards to identify areas of opportunity or assess impact of variances versus peers on metrics such as turn times, fallout, delinquencies, costs, etc
  • Review peer publications to develop insight into business trends, as well as both successful and unsuccessful strategies
  • Mine internal data on both the origination and servicing side of the business to uncover anomalies, asymmetries, variances, etc for business intelligence that drive company opportunity
  • Streamline analyses and build efficient processes to measure risk
  • Remain apprised of regulatory changes in the industry that could materially impact Ocwen’s business
  • Analyze pricing, margins, costs, and other P&L drivers for executive communication and optimization opportunities
  • Support internal teams in developing, maintaining, and updating statistical and formulaic approaches to pricing, asset management, and forecasting activities
  • Develop robust and comprehensive models with broad flexibility for use in reporting/ explanations of analytics, executive requests, or by other teams/ departments for optimization or forecasting purposes
  • Augment and maintain a robust set of reports related to the risk profile of the business operations and its portfolio
  • Develop a holistic framework that captures the company's assets and business lines to support a directional measure of risk under various economic scenarios, including interest rate risk, liquidity risk, operational risk (capacity), pricing risk, etc
  • Support analytics related to the pipeline and its risk profile, as well as the hedge position
  • Support best execution analytics of Capital Markets team
  • Support production line of business with any analytics or competitive positioning/ pricing questions they may have
  • Support growth strategy to augment the servicing portfolio through acquisitions
  • Support accounting and planning activities through research on market forecasts/ trends
  • Support a mark-to-model approach to value MSR asset consistent with market bids/ trades and third-party valuations
  • Support analytics of the MSR asset both in the aggregate and by type, including FNM, FRE, PLS, Non-QM, Reverse, HELOC
  • Support MSR manager in presentation and communication of MSR data, and contextualize the data against peer data or historical averages, or other objective data points, especially when rationalizing variances
  • Manage back-testing efforts for all Capital Markets models/ analytics as well as for MSR management
  • Assess, contextualize, and communicate MSR yields based on internal assumptions/ drivers (Ex: ROA, ROE, CPRs, recap)
  • Analyze the spreads, profitability, performance characteristics, risk profiles and opportunities across all loan types: FNM, FRE, PLS, Non-QM, Reverse, HELOC, whole loans, call rights
  • Guide team on pricing that is calibrated to market
  • Create transparency for internal business units regarding shifts in demand and supply both internally and from the broader market
  • Superlative ability to convey technical information in a concise and executive manner
QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 15-20 years mortgage experience required
  • Minimum of 10 years within capital markets, with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Minimum of 7 years experience with modeling related to the mortgage industry
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with Microsoft excel, with advanced skills
  • Minimum of 10 years leading people
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to solve complex and unusual technical, administrative, and managerial situations
  • Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex information effectively
  • Advanced decision-making skills with ability to analyze short and long-term effects of pricing and market movements
