Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manage extra contractual/bad
    faith and commercial litigation (including contract claims, bankruptcy-related
    litigation, class actions, and other business disputes) involving the
    Company. 

  • On all litigated matters, select and
    supervise outside counsel; review all pleadings, motions, and other papers;
    coordinate discovery responses; and prepare Company witnesses for deposition
    and trial testimony. Work with other Company employees and outside counsel on appeals
    in all jurisdictions.   Coordinate dispute
    and litigation management with internal business partners and other Chubb lawyers
    to ensure consistency with business operations, strategies, and goals.  Provide clear, practical, and strategic
    advice in timely fashion.

  • Communicate with
    senior business management and Chubb Legal management on matters of
    significance.

  • Identify litigation
    trends and counsel business clients and other legal staff regarding
    opportunities to address those trends.

  • Provide training to internal
    business partners on a wide variety of litigation-related topics.

 

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum 7 years of insurance
    coverage/bad faith and commercial litigation experience with law   firm and/or insurance company.

  • Excellent analytical and communication
    skills; superior writing ability.

 

EDUCATIONAL
AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Juris Doctor degree from an
    accredited United States law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in the United
    States.

  • Undergraduate degree from an
    accredited United States or foreign university or college.
