This position is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure industry standards-based integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software.No matter your role at Boys Town, you will contribute to helping us change the future of America's youth.Responsibilities:* Installs, configures, and maintains enterprise database environments* Provides guidance and mentoring to junior members of the DBA team.* Assesses and develops long-term strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and IT leadership* Conducts research and makes recommendations on database products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts* Communicates database design strategies to technical staff, defines database descriptions and manages changes to the database management system including staff meetings* Evaluates, selects, and implements tools to enhance processing and performance/tuning* Develops, implements and manages processes to ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of company data* Designs and implements policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets* Works with application development staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures* Provides database related consultation to operations, application systems, and the user community* Manages and maintains vendor relationships for service, support, and troubleshooting issues* Conducts performance review and database tuning* Clones/restores test/development environments* Plans and coordinates data migrations between systems* Develops, implements, and maintains change control and testing processes for modifications to databases* Establishes appropriate end-user database access control levels* Develops best practices for end users to facilitate database useRequired Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent.* 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience including designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers* Certifications in Microsoft SQL: (MTA Database, MCSA: SQL Server, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics)* Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws* Demonstrates technical expertise with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers primarily in a Microsoft SQL Server environment* Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL to include backup/restore and account management* Install, configure and maintain Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, PowerBI and Analysis Service* Manage a complex ETL environment using SSIS and 3rd party tools* Design, install, configure and maintain Microsoft clustering technologies such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups and related HA technologies such as WSFC.* Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products; ability to performance tune and troubleshoot databases.* Manage all aspects of database backup/restore responsibilities to include DR plans.About Boys Town:Boys Town touches the lives of more than 2 million children and families nationwide each year.
