Summary:
The Educational Services Facilitator teaches one or more subjects and provides leadership, direction, and sound decision-making and judgment in the classroom in compliance with agency policies and procedures and established state and federal standards and requirements. To successfully perform this job, the employee may be expected to perform the following, with or without reasonable accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990:
Essential Functions:
1. Participate in the assessment, identification and documentation of the educational needs of all children in care.
2. Using learning, knowledge and experience the senior educational facilitator shall collaborate with the educational services facilitators in identifying student instructional needs and developing instructional programs consistent with programmatic expectations.
3. Implement an educational curriculum that is culturally competent, develops skills in ADA (Approved) Rev. 6/30/2020 compulsory domains and reflects current educational best practices.
4. Teach one or more subject areas at the level assigned to this position.
5. Know, support and abide by the BCFS Health and Human Service educational philosophy and culture.
6. Travel from one location to another daily.
7. Meet predetermined deadlines and reporting requirements for the position.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Hire, train, supervise and provide performance feedback for program personnel in accordance with agency policies and procedures and federal and state standards and requirements.
3. Select, acquire, store, issue and inventory classroom equipment, materials and supplies for the educational program.
4. Complete all notification and reporting requirements in accordance with state and federal contract and regulatory standards and requirements.
5. Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational program and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
6. Communicate and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among students.
7. Effectively communicate with and between facility staff, children, federal staff, legal representatives for services population and other community resources.
8. Monitor program data and report to BCFS Health and Human Services administration and management and the Office of Refugee Resettlement regarding activities and recommendations for the program.
9. Participate in service expansion planning, budget preparations and long and short-term planning for the program.
10. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of child and program operations.
11. Maintain BCFS Health and Human Services professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in BCFS employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, clients, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times. Credentials, Skills and Abilities:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including First Aid, CPR and Emergency Behavior Intervention.
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
3. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
5. Demonstrate skills in providing effective, hands on leadership.
6. Demonstrate knowledge of current educational best practices for service population.
7. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Work effectively with BCFS leadership, BCFS Health and Human Services Executive Director, and funding source entities
b. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics
c. Work in a fast paced and changing environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
d. Organize and prioritize responsibilities and duties efficiently
e. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
f. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team ADA (Approved) Rev. 6/30/2020
8. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Residential Services policies and procedures and Relevant regulations, guidelines and standards.
