Director, Merchandise Operations

LOCATION

OVERVIEW

The Director, Merchandise Operations defines, leads and executes the overall business strategy for the assigned solution(s), including Product Management, Product Development, Professional Services and Support. The position collaborates with and supports sales teams and 3rd party partners in communicating solution functionality, value proposition and roadmap. This role will work with the VP, Core Complement to define the Go to Market approach, product strategy, and business plan and be accountable for overall revenue growth and profitability of the assigned solution(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

*

Responsible for customer relationship throughout pre-sales, implementations and post go-live support, providing corporate resources to ensure the highest levels of customer retention, value creation and satisfaction.
*

Responsible for creating, publishing and reporting on solution roadmaps and delivery. This includes setting key milestones and leading the development teams to meet key dates.
*

Responsible for leading both direct and indirect go to market channels. Including fostering and maintaining collaborative working relationships between the direct and indirect channels.
*

Responsible for identifying and on-boarding any 3rd party partners who can accelerate go to market, roadmap and professional services activities surrounding the selling, supporting and developing the assigned solutions in a timely manner.
*

Responsible for creating and measuring department success factors and identifies critical team goals and objectives.
*

Responsible for creating and maintaining executive level relationship within key strategic customer base.
*

Responsible for developing, implementing and measuring departmental policies, procedures and quality standards to ensure the highest levels of performance, customer satisfaction and network/systems security occur.
*

Ensures that strong working relationships with all functions of Blue Yonder to effectively drive the achievement of goals.
*

Responsible for the associate engagement and involvement in the strategic direction for the organization. Including providing necessary associate feedback and direction.
*

Establishes and drives a sense of community within the organization.
*

Fiscally manages appropriate resources needed to deliver to client and revenue projection expectations, including managing approximate $20M P&L and a contribution margin of over 75%
*

Instills confidence in customers by planning, organizing, executing and communicating a course of action to resolve their issues and maintain a long-term, positive relationship.
*

Ensures the necessary recruiting, managing, motivating and retaining an experienced world-class Implementation and Support team.
*

Responsible for the service standards delivered to customers (quality, budget, timeliness).
*

Reviews and approves team expenses, salary and bonus changes.
*

Serves as resource for customer references and provides strategic customer insight including current state of business, additional business opportunities, and challenges faced by client.
*

Responsible for setting and publishing both quarterly and annual goals and objectives for the team members.
*

Responsible for setting the standard as a role model and provides leadership for all interactions with associates and executives within Blue Yonder.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*

Bachelor degree preferred in one of these disciplines: business (especially finance or accounting), computer science, computer engineering, retail management, economics.
*

10 years' experience with retail inventory management solutions in either product management or product development
*

5 years experience working within the retail industry in store operations, merchandising, finance/accounting, inventory control, planning and allocation, forecasting and replenishment
*

Extensive knowledge in PMM (portfolio merchandise management) and/or MMS (merchandise management system) solutions
*

Prior experience supporting the deployment/implementation of a solution
