Hendrickson is searching for a Human Resources Generalist for their Berea, KY manufacturing plant.
This Human Resources Representative will support the plant and continually strive to improve the efficiency of the HR department, the services performed, and the systems utilized. Responsibilities include benefits administration, new hire orientation, participation in the development and revision of policies, procedures and programs.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administer the hourly and salaried benefits programs to include STD, LTD, open enrollment, and claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
Administer, tracks and answers questions on all benefits programs including, but not limited to: FSA, medical, dental, FMLA, short and long term disability, life insurance, 401(k), and COBRA.
Input, monitor and audit the salaried and hourly payroll through Kronos to ensure accurate payroll data is transmitted to payroll.
Conduct new hire orientation for all personnel informing new employees on work rules, benefits, attendance, compensation, company culture and history.
Support the employment process through writing and placing advertisements, screening applicants, scheduling pre-employment tests, scheduling and conducting interviews, scheduling drug screens, reference and background checks, and processing all human resource paperwork.
Maintain the Hourly Employee Handbook; distributing the updated policies and procedures manual annually.
Develop and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, logs and postings to conform to EEO regulations.
Assist in the development and evaluation of HR monthly reports (end of month summary, headcount, recruiting, etc...) in relation to the department's goals.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department, services performed, and systems utilized.
Responsible for coordinating monthly safety audits, safety meetings and safety training and is a member of the Emergency Action Team.
Reporting of Workers' Compensation claims and leading accident investigations.
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
Coordinate the Training & Development processes; encourage a learning environment and helping employees acquire the skills necessary to meet our strategic objectives.
Maintain the hourly training process (on-the-job checklists, machine training log and employee training folders).
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
The successful candidate will possess:
Bachelor's degree is required, preferring a major in Human Resources or business.
Professional certification preferred i.e. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
3-4 years working inexperience in a progressive HR department; preferably within a manufacturing environment.
Professionalism and integrity to communicate and work with employees at all levels of the organization.
Adherence to company confidentiality policies and information.
Results oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility.
Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration.
Knowledge of payroll and timekeeping systems (KRONOS, ADP, Oracle).
Strong computer skills (Microsoft word, excel, power point, and access).
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
