You will be the first Director of Product to partner with the strong engineering leads from each of these teams to deliver the future of the "operating system" that powers our nearly $1B (and growing fast) suite of products. Our customers expect reliable, scalable, compliant solutions. You will be their voice and help make critical decisions as we continue to build and improve our architecture. You and your team will also obsess over the developer experience inside of Zendesk. As our workforce continues to grow in an increasingly distributed manner, you will be responsible for helping to deliver solutions that engineers love, driving efficiency and productivity for our product teams around the globe.
The Director of Product for Foundation, will be defining the role, leading and growing a team of driven and empowered product managers, and overseeing the priority of work for multiple development teams. You will work with our external customers, vendors, internal product development teams, and Zendesk partners like our Security, Compliance and Legal teams, to produce a strategic vision for our growing portfolio of cloud infrastructure.

Work with your engineering counterparts to dive Zendesk's Foundation vision, and work closely with engineering and product leadership to set goals and landmarks to achieve that vision.
Lead a team of Product Managers, providing mentorship and career development for a small team of PMs already in place, while growing the team over time.
Collaborate with internal feature development teams to understand their challenges and problems; obsess about making engineers at Zendesk more productive.
Work with Program Management and Engineering leads to guide the integration of current and future acquisitions onto the Zendesk infrastructure platform.
Partner closely with our customer success, customer support, sales, legal, security, and compliance teams to bring a customer-focused approach to our Infrastructure teams.
Distill Zendesk's competitive positioning around security/compliance/data locality/etc., customer research, and new technology developments into a clear strategy that will differentiate our product suite in the mid-market and enterprise space.
What you bring to the role:
You are an established and accomplished product leader at a startup or fast growing SaaS company, and are managing a team of PMs.
5+ years of proven experience in product management within high paced, agile software-as-a-service environments, preferably in the B2B Enterprise space; including daily interactions with software developers.
You are technical enough to empathize with Zendesk engineers, talk shop with infrastructure teams, and help set a technology vision along with your engineering partners. Computer Science or Engineering background preferred.
Innately passionate about developer experience and new technologies, with a platform-first mentality; you have solid understanding of web architecture, service and API design and stay current with development trends.
Ability to set the direction and lead a large team without a lot of oversight.
Ability to lead projects autonomously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to present and defend your ideas to other key team members, including executives and other product leaders.
Proven product leadership and the ability to make decisions without perfect information.
Ability to travel occasionally to Madison, Wisconsin, Melbourne, Australia and Dublin, Ireland to collaborate with other Zendesk teams.
