We are hiring for an Assistant Field Engineer to join StructureCare to serve our New York territory! The Assistant Field Engineer will assist in the surveying and evaluation of existing structures and in the preparation of inspection reports. The Assistant Field Engineer will confer with the Field Engineer and other project personnel to provide technical advice and ensure issues are effectively brought to resolution. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing technical sales support to enhance existing customer relationships and to assist with securing new ones.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering

  • 0 - 3 years of experience in design and detailing of new concrete, steel & masonry structures

  • Experience with the following software systems: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office

  • Basic knowledge and interest in structural, waterproofing and building envelope systems

  • Ability to formulate and solve problems in a learning and team environment

  • Ability to create drawings, blueprints and specifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Continuous learner with a strategic problem-solving mindset

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team

Job Functions:


  • Performs office production, on-site field investigation/inspections, and other remote activity.

  • Assists Field Engineer with surveys and evaluations of existing structures and preparation of inspection reports.

  • Communicates assessments and plans with Field Engineer.

  • Assists Field Engineer with engineering of all structural repairs within an assigned territory.

  • Assists Field Engineer with preparation of engineering calculations, structural drawings, and construction documents (plans and specifications).

  • Researches code issues (building and structural).

  • Assists Field Engineer in supporting project personnel, providing technical advice and problem-solving.

  • Maintains a high level of technical expertise by participating in appropriate seminars and training programs.

  • Contributes to operating effectiveness by developing internal and external relationships.

  • Represents the company at meetings, cross functional task teams, and seminars as required.
