Clinical Performance is charged with effectively implementing, monitoring, and executing on programs related to driving affordability, clinical quality and risk adjustment activities across all lines of business for OptumCare a ~$9 billion a year organization, touching over 9 million patients, 80 payers, and 22,000 providers.
This position will report into the Director of Content, Documentation, & Governance and will be responsible for overseeing the Risk Adjustment Content and Documentation Team. You will manage a small team of technical writers who write Risk Adjustment content for operational processes, CMS announcements, and user documentation for our risk adjustment product. Your team's responsibilities range from writing reference documents to creating tutorials and documentation, product development, and executive leadership presentations. You will work with the Risk Adjustment Operations, Legal, Compliance, and business partners to identify critical documentation needs and create engaging, accurate content. The ideal candidate has technical documentation experience, outstanding people management skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality technical publications.

Manage, develop and grow a team of technical writers with varying backgrounds and levels of experience
Work with other departments to identify documentation needs
Define writing projects and set goals for documenting new features and for improving the quality of existing documentation
Review documents for accuracy and style and ensure all publication standards are met by following established procedures
Ensure staff is supported and set up for success
Facilitate weekly touch points with leader to provide updates and identify risks and opportunities
Own documentation intake & process to timely and accurately identify escalations, and communications at both the executive leadership and operator level
Excellent multi-tasking skills and experience working with matrixed teams
Monitor compliance with requirements in framework
Establish and maintain a record of operational procedures manuals
Facilitate the flow of information

Bachelors or undergraduate degree, communcations, or advanced writing degree
Three to five years of technical writing and process documentation
5+ years of leadership, employee management, and supervisory experience
3+ years of experience working on multiple projects and help manage reporting resources
3+ years of experience with process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes
Outstanding attention to detail, especially regarding formatting and grammar
A logical, problem-solving mind
Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Project, Power Point, Excel, Visio, Access, Word)
Ability to work independently and in a matrix team environment
10% travel required
