General Summary - This is a remote opportunity with a preference for candidates on the West Coast.
The Business Development Manager is responsible for maintaining expertise in our market space, products, competition, and able to transfer that knowledge to the field in order to maximize sales potential for DPG products within our District, Independent Dealer and OEM channels. The role will work with local resources to investigate opportunities, close deals and ensure our specialists and sales representatives are educated on our DPG products, what they can do and the solutions they offer our end-users. This position reports to the Senior Director, Digital Print Group.
Master knowledge of specific, technical aspects of digital products and key messages is required. The individual must work directly with sales teams to improve the overall knowledge in the field through coaching, coordination of training programs.
Remote position. Must be self-sufficient and able to work independently.
Attain or exceed sales goals for DPG Hardware, Software and Supplies.
Work with DS Specialists in all sales channels to maximize sales of DPG products.
Participate in ride along, sales blitzes and customer demos.
Act as liaison from the sales channels to the DPG team and maintain the relationships to key personnel.
Manage and/or participate in monthly DPG First Friday webinars.
Develop training materials to present to sales representatives, with the specialist.
Educate sales teams on the range and applications for DPG products.
Maintain technical and functional expertise on the complete range of DPG solutions.
Maintain DPG market knowledge and sales trends.
Manage leads from trade shows, phone calls and websites to maximize response and closure.
Respond to customer inquiries in designated territory.
Attend trade shows, representing our company and our DPG products.
Work with GMs and dealer principles to maintain focus on DPG products.
Gather competitive intelligence.
Work with the DPG product manager to develop new product ideas/improvements.
Work with marketing team to optimize sales literature, sales tools and website content.
Required Skills & Experience
Ability to travel; up to 65% attend kickoff events, trade-shows, training sessions, and other related events.
Bachelor s degree required.
Minimum 5 year s work experience in business development, and/or sales role within the printing/mailing industry.
Business acumen to identify customer trends and behaviors and use insights gained to develop marketing strategies and offers.
Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively across departments and manage by influence.
Experience with inkjet and other printing technologies is desired.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
