We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Manager to manage and effectively lead the US covid test finished goods fulfillment to end customers. This position will have responsibility for inbound transportation of finished goods from the manufacturing sites to the distribution center, and outbound transportation for fulfillment to the end customers. This includes excellence in achieving KPIs resulting in meeting/exceeding end customer expectations for order fulfillment. Position will work in a matrixed cross functional arrangement with customer service, BU Supply Chain planning and 3PL providers including distribution center and transportation providers. Position will be responsible for transportation spend, continuous improvement, operations efficiency and long-term network strategy.

Responsible for inbound and outbound transportation logistics of ARDx US covid tests. Performance will be measured by SOW, SOP, established KPIs and achieving annual budget
*

Responsible for inbound transportation management of designated 3PL provider from manufacturing locations to distribution center
*

Responsible for outbound transportation management of designated 3PL provider from distribution center to end customers
*

Problem solving for unexpected urgent situations such as manufacturing constraints, same day customer deliveries, late product arrivals etc. Arrangements for high priority ad hoc shipments with 3PL providers and monitoring shipment through successful delivery
*

Position will work closely with internal and external manufacturing sites to establish and maintain SOPs to govern pick-up and transportation of finished products inbound to the distribution center. Responsible for monitoring performance against SOPs and driving continuous improvement. Serves as liaison between manufacturing site logistics contacts and 3PL providers
*

Collaborate with ARDx cross functional teams to ensure customer fulfillment meets and exceeds expectations as measured by established KPIs. Cross functional teams include manufacturing operations, customer service, BU demand planning, BU supply planning and corresponding leadership
*

Interface with ARDx customer service to resolve outbound transportation issues challenges and monito hot shipments
*

Conducts QBRs with key suppliers and acts as point of contact to our suppliers on all operational and rate related items
*

Responsible for supplier relationship management both at day to day execution level and broader strategic level.
*

Generate analysis of multiple data and factors related to the divisions transportation network (i.e service optimization, mode optimization, broker vs asset, freight spend). Collaborate within global logistics and warehouse teams to develop long range strategic plan in alignment with executive and senior management strategies and related division objectives
*

Create visibility tools and reports to monitor transportation service performance and spend
*

Collaborate with customer service and 3PL to ensure timely and accurate reporting of proof of delivery and freight costs for shipments to the U.S. Government
*

Primary stakeholder and decision maker in the negotiation of key contracts with transportation providers and periodic annual bid process
*

Assures adherence to Abbott legal and risk management policies

ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE / BUDGET

*

Incumbent reports to Senior Manager Logistics Operations. Interacts with 3PL management team, Customer Service, ARDx Manufacturing team leadership, BU Finance, BU SC and Planning team, Diagnostics Commercial team leadership and cross ARDx logistics team
*

Accountable for leadership and management to deliver customer fulfillment operations within the ARDx Quality, Regulatory and Security system requirements aligned with US (and OUS if fulfillment occurs) requirements. Responsible for maintaining alignment and obtaining best practices with other Abbott divisions and global logistics team
*

Ongoing interface/alignment with Corporate Logistics and senior management from outside transportation/logistics suppliers and vendors for negotiation of key contracts
*

Accountability for accurate budget analysis and savings tracking including, freight, inter-company allocations, product standard cost, fuel surcharges and negotiations / approval of global contracts. Assures Code of Conduct and Financial standards are met
*

Responsible for managing $75 MM in freight spend. The position has responsibility for effective interaction and communication across the enterprise including management to operations level. There is regular interaction with groups outside of Logistics. The position interfaces with customer service, planning, regulatory, quality assurance, manufacturing, engineering, finance, and human resources. The position presents budgets, freight plans, and new ideas to the Senior Manager Logistics Operations for review and execution

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics Management

Masters degree: Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics Management Advanced degree: Desirable. MBA, Masters, etc.

Other: Distribution-Logistics and/or Supply Chain certifications desirable

Minimum of 5 years in Supply Chain, Logistics and/or Operations
*

Highly preferred experience includes management of 3PL providers, warehouse operations, sourcing and procurement of logistics services. Experience with FTL, LTL, and small parcel modes highly preferred
*

Experience may also include manufacturing or distribution environment, knowledge of financial information and process, knowledge of materials and inventory computer systems: thorough understanding of Abbott planning / inventory management or distribution systems, demonstrated project leadership, exposure to and understanding of international affiliate operations and their needs and regulations
*

Proficiency in common program management communication software tools (i.e. MS Project, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, etc.)

Experienced in providing/articulating key components of financial analysis including Profit & Loss statement and Balance Sheet
