JOB SUMMARY

The Manager, Technical Accounting and SEC reporting should have the desire to work in an energetic, growth minded, and collaborative team environment. The position will have high visibility across the corporate functions of Controllership, Finance, Human Resources, and Legal as well as business unit operations. The candidate should have exceptional communication and time management skills and confidence in communicating directly with executives across internal functions and with external auditors. Ability to perform accounting research and document conclusions around one-off transactions, special projects, and other technical accounting matters. Prepares financial statements and the related footnotes for all SEC filings and executes detailed financial statement reviews for a diversified, multinational entity. Requires a strong work ethic and ability to adapt as initiatives and assignments change. Self-starter who will embrace the responsibility to exercise judgment and to plan, prioritize and accomplish goals on an established timeline.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

* Performs detailed accounting research and documentation for special projects, business combinations, new accounting pronouncements and ad hoc items as identified

* Responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for external filings and other non-periodic filings with the SEC

* Proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement, and resilient to carry through to implementation

* Interacts frequently with regional and business Controllers regarding accounting / reporting questions and issue resolution

* Plays key role in ensuring SEC reporting complies with laws and regulations; stays abreast of impacts to disclosure requirements from changes in accounting pronouncements, laws, and regulations

* Interact directly with multiple corporate departments regarding preparation of SEC filings

* Coordinates with other departments, outside advisors and external auditors regarding financial statement audits, reviews and other related events

* Support the update and maintenance of SPX FLOW Accounting Policies

* Support Controllership in assessing projects / contracts relative to 'over time' revenue recognition

* Other duties and ad hoc projects as they arise

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

* Motivated individual with the ability to prioritize and focus on special initiatives/projects in addition to principal duties and responsibilities

* Strong understanding of US GAAP including the ability to perform research, document and communicate judgements and conclusions for accounting issues

* Knowledge regarding SEC reporting requirements and drafting disclosures for inclusion in filings

* Excellent analytical and communication skills

* Ability to work in a team environment that is fast paced and demanding

* History of working on multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on schedule

* Skillful in time management with the ability to work under tight deadlines

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Education / Experience

* 4+ years of experience in a related position in a corporate environment or with a public accounting firm

* Significant experience with both periodic and non-periodic SEC reporting requirements

* Strong knowledge of US GAAP

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

Preferred Education / Experience

* CPA

* Working knowledge of SAP

* Experience with Workiva software

* Experience with creating / automating processes through robotic process automation

* Knowledge / experience assessing 'over time' revenue recognition for long term projects

* Working knowledge of OneStream
