MS Project test required -

IT FINANCE PROJECT ANALYST

The Project Analyst is assigned to support the workload of Project Manager(s) who are responsible for all required project management administrative activities. The Project Analyst performs the following project activities such as, but not limited to, business case and Microsoft project plan development and maintenance; task prioritizing, resourcing and sequencing; issue and risk management; progress and status reporting; project financial forecasting, monitoring and accounting; variance analysis against baseline(s); , etc. The Project Analyst is responsible to support the workload of Project Manager(s) for creating and maintaining cost loaded project plans using Microsoft Project (currently version 2016). The Project Analyst interfaces with the Project Manager to ensure the appropriate funding is in place to support the project plan activity. Once projects are funded, the Project Analyst interfaces with the Project Manager monthly to gather status and update the forecasted spending plan and schedules. The Project Analyst and the Project Managers report status to the sponsoring leadership and the Capital Portfolio management processes, such as quarterly re-forecasting (re-baselining), monthly accounting and book-closing, collaborating on corporate strategy as it impacts future year(s)original budget setting, capital expense versus operating expense determinations, and many others.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Directly support Project Manager for all project activities through the project lifecycle. The Project manager is accountable to his/her immediate leadership, project sponsorship, and the capital portfolio management team

* Ensure assigned project artifacts adhere to the project management guidelines as established by the capital portfolio management team.

* Create and maintain Microsoft project plans work breakdown structure, cost loaded and resource leveled activities, and milestones

* Monitor and track actual costs of work completed using labor reporting systems versus the estimated cost of work planned by updating the Microsoft project plans

* Capture, document and maintain all project issues, risks, assumptions and constraints

* Assist with forecasting the project's cash flow, setting baselines and analyzing cost variances monthly

* Work with the Project Manager to identify root causes for significant variances and develop recommended corrective actions to improve budget forecasts

* Support the workload of Project Manager(s) to complete monthly and quarterly project status reports for the project sponsors and the PM's leadership team

* Using the cost loaded MS Project plan, create project funding requests to obtain project funding

* Using the enterprise MS Project server, collaborate with the PM to analyze the forecast for shared resources across the enterprise that have multiple assignments on more than one project

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Significant Experience creating and updating project plans, tasks, and timelines using Microsoft Project (online evaluation required)

* Working knowledge of work breakdown structures (WBS) and project management methodologies, particularly those in the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge

* Ability to define and sequence activities

* Experience developing/facilitating/refining time and cost-based work estimates

* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

* Attention to detail and establish consistency across all projects

* Experience working across and meeting the needs of multiple projects on an on-going basis

* Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint to develop presentations for project funding activities, reporting and project status communication

* Advanced or Expert MS Project skills (5 years minimum; version 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 or 2016)

* Advanced or Expert MS Excel Skills (5 years minimum on basic features; 1 year minimum with pivot tables & "VLOOKUP" formulas a must)

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification not required
