SLAC JOB POSTINGS

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, a multipurpose laboratory for photon science, accelerator, astrophysics, and particle physics research, has an employment opportunity for a Research Scientist who has demonstrated capability and achievement in electron beam lithography and scanning electron microscopy. The Research Scientist will develop applications-based processes and workflows, both experimentally and using computational tools. Extensive hands-on work in a clean-room environment will be a central part of this job.

Your specific responsibilities include:

* Instrument commissioning

* Develop and implement new ion beam and electron beam-based processes and workflows

* Publish and present research results.

Note: This is a 1 year term position with the possibility of extension. Assignment duration is contingent upon project needs and funding.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

* Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or other Engineering.

* Minimum 10 years of experience in electron and ion beam-based metrology, both experimental and simulation.

* Experience with focused ion beam microscopy and lithography, scanning electron microcopy, electron beam lithography, reactive ion etching, sputtering, and electron beam evaporation.

* Experience commissioning electron beam lithography systems

* Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
