The role …

In this position, you will report to the Accounts Payable Manager, and you will be responsible for the accurate processing of invoices and check requests, as well as ensuring that payments are processed promptly.

If you are passionate about pets, and you have at least 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Representative role - we want to hear from you! This position is located at our Secaucus, NJ corporate headquarters, but temporarily working remotely due to COVID-19.

Your responsibilities …

- Processing PO and non-PO related invoices and check requests promptly

- Verifying GL coding and ensuring that all applicable discounts are taken

- Requesting vendor statements and reconciling with AP/GL system balance

- Keeping track of credits owed to the company and ensuring all credits are properly applied to vendor payments

- Supporting the Accounts Payable Manager with new vendor review and setup

- Working directly with vendors for conversion to ACH payment

- Updating and adding banking information for vendor payments via ACH/Wire

- Reviewing & correcting vendor payment terms in the Oracle system

- Researching vendor inquiries and communicating with vendors in regards to the status of invoices

- Assisting with the weekly check run process

- Assisting other department members and the AP Manager with special projects when required

- Supporting Accounts Payable month-end close by running closing reports and providing detailed information/invoice copies for accruals

- Effectively planning and organizing to meet deadlines

You'll have …

- A High School diploma is required; Associates Degree in Accounting or business school degree preferred

- Minimum of 2 years accounts payable experience

- General understanding of accounts payable policies and procedures

- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system experience is required, Oracle experience is preferred

- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

- Excellent accuracy and organizational skills

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written + verbal)
