Job Summary

The VDC Designer - TFS is responsible for generating a trade specific 3D model that is used to create deliverables that enable our shop and field teams to be more safe and efficient.

Duties & Responsibilities

-Creates intelligent LOD 400 models utilizing Autodesk Fabrication with focus on improving safety during install, increased opportunities for prefabrication, schedule efficiencies, and reducing cost

-Utilizes Autodesk Navisworks to verify your 3D models are fully coordinated and clash free

-Utilizes Laser Scans in an Autodesk environment to aid in the 3D Modeling process

-Improves on existing designs to create a safer and more efficient finished products

-Understanding of contract drawings and specs to create a coordinated, clash free, BIM model

-Working knowledge in both 2D and 3D environments

-Proficient in annotation and the production of 3D isometric and 2D orthographic drawings

-Ability to read, understand, and implement the concepts in architectural, structural, civil, and trade specific contract documentation, P&IDs, and specifications

-Possess an expert level of trade specific knowledge in relation to code requirements and design principles in regards to Process, Pharmaceutical, Mechanical, and Plumbing design

-Expert level of Autodesk 2018+: AutoCAD, Fabrication, Navisworks Manage, and Revit

-Expert level of trade related code and design principles

-Advanced Windows 7 and 10 knowledge

-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint)

-Exceptional organization and coordination skills

-Ability to work as part of a team with a common goal

-Improve on existing designs to create a safer and more efficient finished product

-Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

-High School Diploma or GED required

-Bachelor's degree preferred

-3+ years of experience
