QA Automation Engineer at NetSmart Technologies in Springfield, Missouri

Job Description:

Responsibilities
- Evaluates, generates, executes, and maintains a full test automation library with test scenarios to ensure requirements coverage and regression coverage with positive and negative testing in line with Netsmart's processes and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering team to identify critical or high priority gaps in coverage and coordinate lessening the gap.
- Ensures alignment and maintenance of the test automation script library in relation to manual tests performed and maintains and adds new scripts to the test automation library where critical
- Routinely provides insight specifically to Engineering, Product Management, Support teams, and other stakeholders during all phases of the SDLC. Provides input on requirements, design, usability, and testing implications in order to support test automation.
- Collaboratively works with engineering and product management to maintain and build out additional tests or make recommendations prior to and throughout the development process.
- Conduct software compatibility tests against changing programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
- Identify, Install, configure, and maintain test lab environments to allow simulated and comparable testing.
- Provide troubleshooting/problem resolution for test issues identified when required.
- Take initiative, prioritize, communicate, and manage multiple detailed tasks across team members on a project and in daily delivery in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Perform various types of testing to include: Functional, Regression, Integration, Portability, UX, and Smoke testing.
- Writes End User Release Notes and Technical Documentation generated with accuracy, completeness, and overall quality.
- Provide estimation of tasks, and on-time delivery against stated schedules.
- Will be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education.

Specialized knowledge
- Ability to evaluate, write, and execute test cases, test plans, and test scenarios
- Has strong knowledge of multiple products and/or functional areas and can logically identify and resolve complex issues
- Must demonstrate an ability to see the broader picture of impact of developed processes
- Must understand general operating systems, browsers, workflow cycles, development life cycle, and terminology.
- Requires a general understanding of business operations, business terminology, and business communications.
Experience
- 1-3 years' experience performing automated software script development and execution, 1-3 years' experience writing manual test cases and test execution.
- Must be able to read and interpret business requirements and read/write technical specification documents. Includes having a basic understanding of source control/configuration management.
- Must understand Software Quality Assurance standards and practices.
- Must be able to demonstrate individual and team work effort in collaborative processes.
PC Skills

Skills and Abilities
- Microsoft Word - intermediate level
- Microsoft Excel - advanced level
- Microsoft Outlook - internediate level, preferred
- Microsoft Visio/PowerPoint/Diagraming solution preferred
Technical Skills Preferred
- Experience in working with web-based, pc-based, and mobile applications built with Java, .Net, Web technologies,, Linux utilizing varying databases for data storage and retrieval.
- Knowledge of where test automation applies, its usage, and maintenance needs.
- Selenium or test automation scripting tool equivalent.
- Ability to interpret and apply scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript) used by the test automation tool.
- Familiarity with Node.js, web object identification (e.g. XPath)
Other Skills
- Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel. May interact with outside customer or mentor less experienced engineers.
- Requires the ability to work independently meet department deadlines, and learn industry and products.
- Requires the verbal and listening skills to probe and ask questions to ensure understanding of requirements, participate in teams, and communicate technical issues to non-technical personnel
- Requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents and write a variety of business and technical documents. May include doing presentations on team activities.
- Strong written and detail-oriented skills to effectively produce quality test cases and related test and release documentation with a high level of coverage.
