POSITION PROFILE

ASSOC. DIR., FORECASTING & BUSINESS PLANNING

The Associate Director of North America Forecasting & Business Planning is responsible for interacting cross functionally with North America Business Operations, Market Access, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to develop and maintain product forecasts for in-line or launch brand(s) in the Hem/Onc BU. This position is responsible for setting company goals by objectively providing forecast recommendations through robust and integrated data analyses. The successful candidate will have the highest level of data analysis and problem-solving skills and can be a strategic thought partner to the business partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to)

* Create, implement, and maintain both the US and Canada forecast model(s) that support three in-line Hem/Onc brands

* Develop launch forecasts for potential line-extensions or product launches in both US and Canada

* Drive continuous improvement in forecasting process and methodology

* Conduct forecast sensitivities on identified drivers and barriers

* Challenge assumptions and applies forecasting methodologies to support brand strategy

* Gather, assess, interpret, and analyze data from a variety of sources in the development of a thorough, objective and supportable monthly and annual forecast in support of financial planning process

* Drive analysis as required to understand key business metrics and the resulting impact on the forecast

* Collaborate with other disciplines, e.g. Analytics & Insights, Finance, New Product Planning, Market Access, and Marketing to provide objective and rigorous point of view on forecast assumptions

* Communicate and align key internal stakeholders on forecast assumptions and outputs including qualifying the results based on the strength of the data

* Collaborate with Analytics & Insights colleagues to design and execute market research/analytics to support forecast assumptions

* Design and produce management dashboards, ad hoc reports and tracking metrics to assist the executive management team, as well as the sales and commercial teams, in understanding and managing the business

* Analyze proactively internal and third party data sources to project the business impact of trends. Makes recommendations for action to commercial leadership based on those trends

* Support preparation of forecasts, and long range strategic plans by developing forecast models

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Bachelor s degree in business, mathematics, or statistics preferred; MBA highly preferred

* A minimum of 5 years of relevant commercial analytical and forecasting experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry; Launch product experience preferred, preferably when establishing new markets

* Proficient in demand forecasting, uncertainty analyses, e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, higher level statistics, and systems modeling

* Consulting experience preferred but not required

* Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment and gain alignment across an organization

* Strategic understanding of pharmaceutical sales and marketing with the ability to identify market drivers, trends, issues, etc. Knowledge and experience working with biopharmaceutical market data (meaning of data, limitations of data, ability to manipulate, etc.) including IMS/SHS data, epidemiology data, claims, etc.

* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills

* Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word

* Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

* Travel up to 25%, depending on time of year

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor s degree in related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant commercial analytical and forecasting experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.
