Job Description:

SUMMARY

* Position Summary

* Responsible for the development and implementation of area standards, policies, procedures and training programs necessary to ensure high quality of central processing services. This includes teaching, setting work assignments, updating and writing all policies and procedures for the department, disciplining and counseling of employees, maintaining inventory control of kits and instruments, and maintaining high quality standards for all processing within the department.

* Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

* Education: Requires knowledge of operating room procedures, infection control, and patient care equipment and supplies at a level normally acquired through completion of an approved nursing school or related allied health program.

* License/Certifications: N/A

* Experience: In-depth knowledge of operating room organization and procedures, processing standards and instrumentation, and ability to oversee and plan training programs at a level normally acquired through two to three years' progressively more responsible related experience.

* Analytical abilities necessary to plan and evaluate training programs, policies and procedures; and to oversee and ensure successful operation of areas of responsibility under tight deadlines.

* Interpersonal skills necessary to conduct formal orientation and training programs, provide effective leadership to assigned subordinates, and maintain cooperative working relationships with variety of nursing personnel within MMC and subsidiaries.
