The ideal candidate will support the mission of the Pharmacy department by ensuring that the right patient receives the right medications in a safe and timely manner under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. He/she will develop a full understanding of the drug distribution system and demonstrate competency in carrying out all duties associated with delivering medications to the patient care area's. The successful candidate will use an Omnicell automated dispensing system, Epic computer software, and prepares IV admixtures.
The ideal candidate will have the following key qualifications in order to be successful in this role:
* High School diploma or equivalent required.
* Familiarity with medical/drug terminology and abbreviations helpful.
* Demonstrated ability to walk and stand 70% of the time and to lift up to 35 pounds.
* Must be registered with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or obtain Pharmacy Technician in Training license prior to hire
* All Technicians in Training must become registered as Pharmacy Technicians with the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Pharmacy before 1500 hours or 1-year of employment, whichever is less.
* Registered Pharmacy Technicians must obtain national certifcation within 6-months of becoming eligible
* Excellent communication and computer skills.
