Job Description:

Who We Are: Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA) is Austin's leading youth development agency currently serving more than 12,500 kids at 32 Clubs located in Travis and Bastrop Counties. Every day at the Clubs, stories unfold that show our staff, our families, and our Club kids the most important role of the Boys & Girls Club: to provide our kids with the opportunity to belong, to succeed, to serve their communities, and to share their voice with the world.

Position Objectives: Prepares, facilitates, and evaluates programming activities for youth to ensure enrichment programming is successful. Ensures a safe environment and that safety measures are always followed while on-site.

Hours:
During the school year: Part time hours (approx 20 hours a week) 2:00pm to 6:00pm; Monday - Thursday, 11:45am to 6:30pm on Friday
Out of school time: (i.e. summer, winter, and/or spring break) hours may vary, but will remain a part-time position. Out of school time hours may range from 6:30am - 6:30pm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares materials for programming
Leads activities designed to foster students' mental, physical, and social development
Works with youth individually or in groups to facilitate programming
Provides feedback to Club youth using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students
Enforces Club rules and policies
Maintains a professional and role-model persona


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Checks in and/or out youth attending Club adhering to procedures
Takes daily class attendance and maintain accurate records
Supervises youth in various settings including classrooms, cafeteria, playground, multipurpose rooms, and field trips
Creates virtual and Club on the Go lesson plans
Compiles materials to be dispersed on-site for Club on the Go programming
Facilitates daily virtual "live" Club programming sessions. Converts or streams that content into online videos for use on BGCAA's social media channels.
Packages and distributes Club on the Go material to participants including a sustainable snack, educational kits, nutrition and healthy habits tips, and other resources
Prepares and serves food adhering to strict procedures
Attends staff meetings and training sessions as prescribed
May be required to drive a shuttle bus or Club transportation
Maintain close daily contact with Club staff and Club members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instruction
Maintain contact with external community groups, school administration, members' parents and others
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Club area
Perform other duties as assigned


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma/GED
Must pass background check, reference check, and drug test
Must be able to work and interact professionally
Proficient with computer equipment


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree in education or related field preferred
Spanish speaking preferred
Exemplary written and spoken communication skills
Demonstrates dependability, accountability, and cooperation
