A Financial Analyst analyzes financial data and assist with the preparation of management reports, equipment accounting and financial packages for our internal heavy construction/ marine customers.
Essential Job Functions
Review and monitor general ledger, project and equipment costs in comparison with budgets
Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results and variance reporting
Provide financial forecasting support throughout the year
Assist with annual business planning process
Analyze current equipment rates for larger marine assets.
Track our budgeted values to actual performance.
Develop models that help with decision-making
Monthly preparation of Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and analysis of project performance
Assist with the monthly preparation of financial statement for company managed joint ventures
Occasionally assist with monthly financial statement consolidation and facilitate financial statement reviews
Partner with external auditors when required
Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environment
Qualifications
2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis or equivalent
Construction accounting experience preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
Knowledge of JD Edwards preferred
Strong knowledge of MS Office 365 including advanced Excel skills
Experience with BI or data analytics software preferred
Problem-solving mindset
Ability to travel when required
Ability to work a 40-hour work week, M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., additional hours as needed
This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in seated stationary position for long periods of time
Ability to navigate around office to use equipment as needed
Light lifting (Up to 20 lbs.) as needed
