JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Provides specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process as it relates to intravenous therapy (peripheral and central) including IV initiation and maintenance, patient/family education, and staff education. Under general direction, the Vascular Access Team (VAT) Nurse has the responsibility and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of vascular assess sites (ex. PICC, Midline, PIV). The VAT Nurse serves as a clinical resource, consults and collaborates with other health care professionals, and functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of OhioHealth.
