Make an impact on patients suffering from Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI). Help improve patient access to therapies that improve their lives by engaging with customer physicians, referring physicians, and the sales team to educate and develop the patient care pathway. We are looking for a field based Market Development Specialist to raise awareness and education on endoVenous disease states and our VenaSeal therapy. This role sits within the Market Development group and will collaborate closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, and Product Marketing.

To be successful in this role you will need to develop comprehensive clinical knowledge of Medtronic's endoVenous business and VenaSeal product, and the ability to effectively communicate that knowledge to the public, including potential referring physicians, treating physicians, clinical staff, and patients in order to support our US Market Development strategy.

A Day in the Life:

  • You will increase market penetration for VenaSeal by being the area expert for facilitating and executing initiatives to develop better patient care pathways and systems of care for CVI patients.


  • You will work with the market development team, sales district managers, territory managers, and clinical specialists to develop strategies and business plans to accelerate the execution of pathway initiatives for better patient care.


  • You will travel throughout your area to educate and support high potential VenaSeal customers, maintain a network of local key opinion leaders and CVI champions, and to assist in the sharing of best practices from successful hospitals and programs throughout the country.


  • You will be responsible for educating and supporting key treating physician accounts as determined by supporting data, geographic canvasing and the direction of marketing leadership.


  • In conjunction with sales, market development, and marketing communications you will identify, create, and execute referrer and patient awareness campaigns in under-penetrated locales.


  • You will work directly with referring physician specialties such as family practice, internal medicine, podiatry, wound care center staff and other specialties with an indication to refer a patient for further disease state evaluation with a direct focus on the care pathway.


  • You will provide advanced clinical and technical support on VenaSeal. Educate physicians and support staff on product instructions for use, troubleshooting, clinical data, industry news, and relevant competitive positioning.


  • You will provide patient pathway, market, and competitor information to the marketing team and leadership; provide insight into the operationalization of our strategies; and help inform our strategy and initiatives moving forward.


  • You will become a subject matter expert on CVI pathway development and best practices.


  • You will provide weekly and quarterly summaries of performance against objectives to marketing management as well as attending quarterly performance reviews and all required meetings.


  • Travel - local and regional travel required up to 70% of the time

    Must Have: Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in a marketing, clinical, sales, or sales support role


  • Project or program management experience

    Nice to Have:



  • Master's Degree


  • Previous Medtronic experience in clinical, sales or marketing, or experience in the healthcare industry, medical device or pharmaceutical preferred


  • Strong project management skills and experience coordinating and executing field-based marketing programs


  • Previous experience with developing and executing therapy awareness and education programs strongly preferred


  • Previous experience with clinical and technical product and procedures in a hospital or clinic-based environment


  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience
